Microsoft Surface and Surface Pro priced

A few days ago Microsoft announced their entry into the tablet market by way of the Microsoft Surface and it’s Intel powered brother, the Surface Pro. The ARM powered Surface will run Windows RT and will be released around the same time as Windows 8, while the Surface Pro will be released 3 months later, with Windows 8 Pro. At the time of announcement, the pricing for the Microsoft Windows tablets was unknown but, we have now heard that the entry model tablet running Windows RT will be priced at $599.

Hopefully the price point won’t put people off the Windows powered tablet but, it may have a hard time competing against the very successful iPad which is priced at $399 for the starting model. The Microsoft Surface Pro has an even higher price point and has been priced at $999. Will you be picking up one of these Microsoft tablets when they’re released or has the pricing made you think again about owning a Windows run tablet?
