Mobinova Beam Smartbook Joins the Android Bandwagon
Android is becoming popular as a choice of OS not only among mobile phone manufacturers but for smartbook as well. It’s pretty understandable since its low footprint sits perfectly well for the computing requirements of smartbooks.
And look who recently join the Android party? – Mobinova with its 8.9-inch Beam smartbook. In case you forgot already, Mobinova Beam use to run on Windows CE, another lightweight OS. For its Android iteration, the Mobinova Beam supports full HD playback and now has the capability to run more apps, particularly made-for-Android applications.
Design-wise, nothing much has been changed according to the LaptopMag folks who recently got a chance to play around with the Mobinova Beam. Except for the keyboard which now has playback keys. In addition, Mobinova is also loading the Beam smartbook with CinemaNow to enable users to download HD videos.
No words on pricing and release date yet. It’s enough that we know that another nice smartbook app is coming out and it has Android OS running on it.
