When Sony announced the Vaio W, it was very clear in the announcement that it will only have a 3-cell battery. This translates to only around 2.5 hours of usage and could probably be the reason why Sony is marketing the Vaio W as a home mobile computer. But why would Sony release a netbook like this when all the other netbook manufacturers are packing their units with batteries lasting up to 10.5 hours?
But anyway, we learned that there will be an extended battery option for the Sony Vaio W, a 6-cell battery option to be exact. So, that’s good news for those who are eyeing the Sony Vaio W but was disappointed by the 3 cell battery option.
