Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi Tablets Receiving Android 4.0.4 Update

The rumors were already at various forums about the possibility of Verizon fixing few stuffs on Wi-Fi version of Motorola Xoom and it turns that the carrier has released a new Android 4.0.4 update for the device.

It wasn’t clear exactly what kinds of changes the new software contained since Motorola was just alerting users about the start of the update’s soak test, but now the company has shed some more light on the upgrade in an email sent to XOOM owners. The update is version IMM76 and will bump users to Android 4.0.4. XOOMers can also expect a handful of software enhancements.

Specifically, after downloading and installing the software release, owners were said to notice enhancements such as:

o Quicker screen rotation
o A new setting to choose whether the power button immediately locks the device or not
o Microsoft Exchange improvements with additional EAS policies
o Better phone number recognition
o Camera and image quality improvements
o Improved stability

It’s good to see the Wi-Fi-only XOOM continue to get love from Motorola, and that owners of the 10.1-inch slate are undoubtedly looking forward to moving up on the next level.
