Motorola Xyboard 10.1 Spill-Proof Tablet Starts at $499.99

Clumsy folks will appreciate Motorola’s new Xyboard tablet. Protected by Nano-coating, the device is able to repel water either from a spill or a sudden drizzle. It simply takes one wipe to restore the tablet to its original dry state. Its anodized aluminum finish also lends it a sleek appearance, yet remains lightweight and thin with dimensions of 253.9 x 173.6 x 8.80 mm and a weight of 599 grams.

The device is packed with a 1.2 GHz dual core processor, and a choice between 16 GB or 32 GB of storage capacity. It is also equipped with an accelerometer and an ambient light sensor. Currently, it runs on Android 3.2 Honeycomb, yet it is upgradeable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Five fully-customizable home screens are available for users.

Its 10.1-inch widescreen TFT / IPS-enhanced LCD display is capable of playing HD 1080p videos at a resolution of 1280 x800, HD. This screen has support for stylus use and also has a portrait and landscape virtual keyboard.

The connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a,b,g,n and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, micro USB, HDMI out, aGPS with Google services like Google Maps and Street View. It is also equipped with a 3.5 mm headset jack and a built-in microphone.
