msiu115hybrid

Straight from Taipei, MSI has announced its newest MSI Wind netbook – the U115 Hybrid. What’s so special about the MSI U115? Well, yes you guess it right, it supports dual storage system – SSD and HDD.

According to MSI, the U115 Hybrid is loaded with MSI’s exclusive Hybrid Storage Technology which fits both SSD and HDD hard drives simultaneously. Basically, it lets you choose SSD for operating Windows while your HDD serves as your file storage. And since we’re taking about SSD here, you are also assured that your files are protected even when you subject the U115 to extreme bumps and falls. But we wouldn’t encourage you to do that anyway.

Aside from this, the MSI U115 also operates on what MSI calls as “ECO on Mode” which shut dowsn the HDD system while the SSD system is operating. Hence, giving you extra mileage on battery life.

Complete Specs of the U115 are enumerated below:

  • 1.60GHz Intel Atom Processor Z530
  • Windows XP Home
  • 10-inch LCD Panel
  • 1GB RAM
  • 120/160GB HDD
  • 2.8GB/16GB SSD
  • 4-in-1 card reader
  • 2.0 MP Webcam

No words on pricing and release dates yet.
