What a better time to announced their second generation MSI but during the first tech event of the year, right? So although MSI has already sent feelers as early as Decemeber regarding the MSI Wind U120, it is only now that the company put out an official announcement regarding it.

And while the specs we told you before about the MSI Wind U120 still holds true, including built-in 3G module, 1GB of RAM, 120GB of HDD, and  Windows XP the said Wind netbook would also be WiMax-ready. But that’s just about what MSI wants us to know, until CES 2009 gets going. So, we should all watch out for the official specs, pricing and release date, although MSI promises to deliver this last December.

Relatedly, MSI also officially announced the new MSI Wind U115, its first hybrid-storage capable Wind netbook that we told you about just recently. The Wind U115 will also have a longer battery life of up to 12 hours at max. Thanks to its ECO power-saving technology since the netbook’s OS will be installed in the SSD which we all know greatly reduces boot time and provides for more efficient operation.
