Netbook and eBook reader manufacturers booth raided at CeBIT

Seems some companies never learn. Previous years at CeBIT have seen raids happen due to copyright infringements and this years no different. The company who were raided by German police have asked to remain unnamed but, we do know they produce ebook readers and netbooks. The company was also raided at IFA. Apple, Siemens and Sisvel have filed a patent infringement claim, along with a €10,000 fine.

As of yet, we don’t know what exactly what patent the Chinese company infringed but, they were seen talking with lawyers. Within an hour of the police showing up, the whole booth was stripped of all it’s electronics. The Chinese company still tried their best despite this and was seen handing out literature.

The Chinese are the masters of bootlegging. It’s funny how in the U.S. they seem to be trying to crack down on pirating when the piracy rate is in the single digits. They should really be focusing their efforts on the rest of the world like Russia and China.
