Netbook Navigator price drops to $799, still expensive

If you read our previous coverage on the Netbook Navigator Nav 9, you probably balked at the immensely high price tag. Its manufacturer seems to have come to his senses and slashed US$400 from the price and it now costs a ‘mere’ US$799. Still a bit heavy on my credit card if you ask me.

Netbook Navigator

  • 8.9″ 1024 x 600 multitouch display
  • 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270
  • 2GB RAM
  • 16GB SSD
  • Windows 7 Home Premium
  • 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, LAN, HSDPA or CDMA 3G module (optional)
  • 3 x USB ports, MiniSD card slot, SIM slot, port replicator (for VGA or LAN adapter), 1.3MP webcam
  • 0.8″ at thinnest part
  • 3-cell 1700 mAh (2.5 hours max)
  • Weight: 0.9kg

I think that’s a heavy already for something you need to carry around to use plus the battery life is dismal and probably even less in actual use. But if you are interested, check out their blow-by-blow comparison with the Archos 9 and iPad.
