New eReader from iRiver Coming in March?
Reports had been made; iRiver wasn’t going to show off their new invention at CES. Everybody has been talking about it for months, and was surprised when they heard the news. But just because no announcement was made doesn’t mean that the item doesn’t exist.
The reporters have said that the said new invention is not a production unit, does not have a name, a model number, nor does it have finalized specs or a price. But the product is set to come out this coming March of 2012.
Engineering demo of the new Iriver e-book specs as of follows: It look a lot like the New Nook Touch, except for the screen, which will be used with XGA screen 1024 X 768-pixel display resolution. They were unable to identify whether it will be used with capacitive, IR, and what not. More information is that it will run Linux, not Android, runs with Wifi, speaker behind the system, a micro SD Card slot, and a headphone jack.
But then again, this information was taken from a production demo only. Just because it was indicated that it looked like the new Nook touch does not mean that the iRiver will also look like one. However, the resemblance would be the same somewhat.
