Lenovo Mini 11

Looks like Lenovo is set to release a new ThinkPad netbook called the “Lenovo Mini 11″ also known as  the Mini 11.

So, what are the details? From FCC documents it appears that the Realtek wireless adapter has been borrowed from the ThinkPad X100e for a Mini 10 and a Mini 11. However, there is some slight confusion as to whether the new Lenovo Mini 10/11 is actually a new netbook itself, just a name for the wireless adapter or a new variant of the wireless adapter. However, one might also consider; could the Mini 11 actually be a new Atom-based ThinkPad?

But, the mention of the X100e and the Mini 10 and Mini 11 as the host machine would be enough to lead one to think that it actually is a new netbook, getting the new Realtek wireless adapter, known  as the RTL8191SE.

It’s all a bit obscure at the moment so we will have to wait and see, but it looks promising that a new netbook going by the name “Lenovo Mini 10″ and a “Lenovo Mini 11″ could be on its way. No specifications available as yet.

HI im actually getting one of these from the government next week and i know what it looks like…. It looks exactly the same as the x100e (same keyboard size) but it has a intel atom and has a 10 inch screen. so the size of the laptop is completely the same but the screen is just smaller and has a lower end chip. i dont really know about the graphics card tho sorry
  • A netbook in the name of ThinkPad? Sounds promissing!

However, I do think Lenovo is going down all the way, it may eventually ruin the brand name ThinkPad, in which cast it's too bad.

I once read somewhere that Lenovo has its own core competency with numerous patents and I was proud of it as a Chinese, but now it let me down.

Lenovo was a marketing company, it is and it will be!!
