New Version of JoliCloud OS Now Supports Netbook with Intel Atom N450

If you’ve got one of those new netbooks running the Intel Atom N450 CPU, you’d be glad to know that you can now download the new version of Jolicloud netbook OS. The folks at Jolicloud has just released a new version that supports the Pine Trail platform.

Jolicloud is one of the most downloaded and widely used free and open-source OS in the likes of Google’s Chrome OS, Linux and EeeBuntu.

If this is your first time to download Jolicloud on your netbook, you may grab the software here. Or if you are currently running Jolicloud on your netbooks you just need to perform a systems upgrade.

Among the Pine Trail netbooks supported by Jolicloud include the Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3, Eee PC 1005PE, MSI Wind U135 and HP Mini 210.

Jolicloud now also supports 1080p HD Video Playback as well. Good times!

“Jolicloud is one of the most downloaded and widely used free and open-source OS in the likes of Google’s Chrome OS, Linux and EeeBuntu.”

I think you made an editing error above, as the original Liliputing story mentions “Moblin Linux” rather than just “Linux” which wouldn’t make much sense as all of these open-source operating systems are in fact built on top of the Linux kernel.

Actually two of the above OSes (Jolicloud, Eeebuntu as well as Ubuntu, among many others) are based on Debian Linux.

I am looking forward to getting a netbook or few without the Microsoft tax.

PS. Your Liliputing “via” link points at the Jolicloud site.

Definitely runs smoother/faster with the Atom N450 support (hyper-threading enabled) over running it in standard mode. I know I took out the non-atom options from GRUB to keep it slim and clean… as always keep a backed up copy of the original GRUB menu.lst file.
