Next-Gen 10″ BlackBerry Tablet to Have Pure Docking Station?
Research in Motion previously revealed that a new 10-inch Playbook, is currently in the works. The public may have their first view of the device at the upcoming Mobile World Congress this month in Madrid, or later, which is more probable, at the DevCon Americas event in May.
Many rumors of the second-generation Playbook’s specifications have been circulating, along with those of the new OS that it will run. RIM had previously announced a launch date for the OS, which is February 21st, so the rumors surrounding its features might be more or less true. On the other hand, the details available about the new tablet are still uncertain, although some sources claim to have released leak photos of the much-awaited device.
This new tablet from Blackberry is predicted to have a pure docking station that is equipped with an Ethernet port, three USB ports, and a mini HDMI port. The tablet’s docking station could mean that the device may also double as a desktop, and may be used to take VoIP calls since it also comes with a wireless receiver.
There could also be a battery-powered keyboard docking station on the Playbook that connects by means of Bluetooth. The battery is expected to go without charging for up to 30 days.
With only a few days until MWC, or a few months until DevCon, BlackBerry fans can perhaps do some more waiting for this new device.
