Nook Color 2 May Come Out This Month
The Barnes & Noble’s NOOK color is currently the Kindle’s biggest competitor in the e-book reader market. It has also managed to become a popular Android tablet – mostly because it can easily be rooted to install a full Android installation. This is because it already runs on Android and just has a custom eReader interface on top of it.
Already boasting a fast CPU and a decent 1024 x 600 pixel IPS display, it’s a good cheap alternative to many tablets. However, it seems that Barnes & Noble is not content to sit on its laurels.
Reports indicate that Barnes & Noble could launch the NOOK Color 2 this month. This stems from news in Taiwan that pinpoint Inventec and Pegatron to be developing the tablet for the bookstore chain. The only supposed specs available are that it will use the same 7 inch color touchscreen display but with an upgrade to E-ink. Pretty sketchy details – but I’ll bet we’ll hear more soon.
