NVIDIA Ion Powered Netbooks Soon?

For those who are wishing that netbooks would have more powerful graphics engine, well it might happen pretty soon. Sources from NVIDIA told Pocket-lint that netbooks with the new NVIDIA Ion Graphic chips will start arriving as early as July.

Although, the reliable source did not disclose at this time, the specific netbook manufacturers which will be the first to release this netbook, it looks like everything will be disclosed at the upcoming Computex Event in Taipei.

Once Computex commenced, early netbook models bearing the NVIDIA ION graphics chip will start shipping as early as July.

Interestingly, aside from the NVIDIA ION chips, the said netbooks will still come with standard features of current netbooks available today. So, basically what users will get from these netbooks are just improved display capability particularly viewing 1080p content as well as beautiful renderings of various games.  These netbooks would also have the capability to display Google Earth and other graphics intensive apps such as Cooliris.

As for the possible prices of these netbooks? It could be around £149.99 for the  Linux version and £249 for the  Windows Vista version.
