NVIDIA Shipping Kepler to Notebooks and Ultrabooks

NVIDIA’s latest graphics solutions should be arriving within the second quarter of 2012. That said, it demands that the Santa Clara would have already started shipping its products to OEMs before that time.
Meanwhile, notebook manufacturers are already receiving boxes of Kepler GPUs. Nevertheless, the true, biggest batch will only be available in some point around the middle of February. The first notebooks will have the GPUs supporting Intel’s Ivy Bridge series of CPUs (central processing units).
With AMD Radeon HD 7000M GPUs also scheduled to appear within the timeframe, everything will result in offers like Dell’s Alienware lineup, which will have both Radeon HD 7970M as well as GeForce GTX 660M graphic options.
What most people may not expect is that Kepler will also land inside Ultrabooks as well, knowing the need for thinness and, so the chance that these new portable PCs will do away with the Integrated GPU of the central processor.
Assuming NVIDIA really hits the Ultrabook design, chances are only entry-level as Kepler solutions will be small enough to fit.
