Packard Bell “Dot” netbook murdered before it even got a chance to explain itself

If you were somehow looking forward and waiting for the release of the Acer Aspire One-inspired Packard Bell “Dot” netbook, I’ve got some good news and bad news. The bad news is, Packard Bell has decided to not release the “Dot” netbook, as revealed by a spokesperson speaking in an interview with the UK’s Pocket-Lint. This is probably because the company has realized that the time of lame 8.9-inch netbooks has passed. There is good news, however, in that the company has plans on introducing a better model than the “Dot” and hopefully around the same price point. More on this new model as we get additional info.

Um, what? I’ve seen and poked at this in an actual store a few weeks ago.
It’s not just “inspired” by the Acer, but rather a rebranded version of it, identical except for details on the casing.
Really? I haven’t seen one in any of the stores in my area. Thanks for sharing.
