Point of View just launched its own netbook called the Mobii ION featuring what is commonly installed on nettops – the Intel Atom N230 processor. Because of this, the said netbook comes equipped with an HDMI port for HD video playback.

Aside from this, the Mobii ION netbook also boasts of  the following standard specs:

  • 10.2-inch display
  • NVIDIA ION MCP7A Chipset
  • NVIDIA ION GPU
  • 1GB RAM
  • 160GB HDD
  • Wi-Fi
  • HDMI output
  • Headphone, microphone ports
  • 1.3 MP camera
  • 2 USB ports
  • and 3/6 cell battery 2200/4400 with up to 4 hours usage time

The Mobii ION 230 comes in black, red and white and should be released in a few weeks. The price is not yet known.

In addition, this netbook will be available in Black, Red and Green. It will be release in the coming weeks, but no price information is available yet.

  • Is it just me or is it a little weird having an HDMI output on a Netbook. It just really doesn't seem what they were designed for, although I welcome the idea of making the Netbooks a little more capable.

    I'm very, very close to choosing to carry around a netbook instead of my laptop in my day to day work. Maybe as they get just a tad stronger I'll be much more inclined.
  • I'm very interested in the ION gpu as the dated intel GMA's have really handicapped alot of netbooks.
