Pre-Order for Samsung Series 9 Now Being Taken

Samsung Series 9 is not an Ultrabook, yet it’s a hot item that many consumers may want to consider. Though the 13-inch model may cost $1399 and the 15-inch model costs $1499, this is not exactly small change. Both the 900X3B (13.3”) and 900X4B (15”) are up for pre-order.

Both Series 9 2012 models sport screens with  1600×900 resolution, backlit keyboard, runs Intel Core i5 or i7 Sandy Bridge processor and has 128GB of SSD storage, which should at least be as fast as the previous model.

Unlike the previous model, many hope that Samsung have sorted out the Wi-Fi which was clearly the weak point on some of the previous models. The 900X3B comes with 4GB of RAM and the 900X4B offered at JR for $1499 has 8GB RAM.

Though it is not confirmed, here’s the estimated weigh and dimension on the two Series 9 notebooks. The 900X4B weighs 3.51 pounds and has dimension of 14.0″ x 9.3″ x 0.58″. On the other hand, 900X3B wieghs 2.6 pounds and measures 12.9” x 8.9” x 0.62 – 0.64”.

Availability should be 2-4 weeks by most accounts though this only applies for the USA, while it’s being tracked for other countries.
