Pre-Order HP Envy 14 Spectre Ultrabook Today

HP has added the Envy 14 Spectre Ultrabook to its website as promised during CES 2012. Now, the glass-covered laptop is available for pre-order in the US for $1,399.99.
The Spectre features a daring design for a “premium laptop.” It uses a special scratch-resistant glass to cover the lid, display, palmrest and trackpad. HP claims that the glass cover makes the laptop more durable, while some aluminum is probably mixed in as well for extra ruggedness.
Another cool feature of the Spectre is its thin bezel 14-inch Radiance Display panel, which is believed to make the Ultrabook fit inside a smaller case. The use of higher diagonal screen allowed HP to choose a 1600×900 resolution for its Ultrabook.
The Envy 14 Spectre Ultrabook is powered by an Intel Core i5-2467M processors paired together with 4GB of system memory. It also includes a 256GB SSD storage, a backlit keyboard, an NFC chip and an estimated 9 hours battery life. Users will also get Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0, HDMI as well Mini Display ports, while audio is provided by a pair of Beats speakers.
As mentioned previously, the Envy 14 Spectre notebook is up for pre-order for $1,399.99 (1,100 EUR), but no date was mentioned for its shipment. In about a month’s time, this ultrabook will also be available in other countries, such as Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, Singapore, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.
