Quanta finishes work on new ultra-thin notebook

DigiTimes has breaking news on Quanta’s completion of a new 1-2cm thin notebook that it should be delivering to consumers within the year or so. It is said that Quanta still hasn’t started on mass producing this sleek new notebook, but the work on it is done and what’s more, it will have an entry level price. No additional details were given out by DigiTimes, citing their industry sources, but we should be hearing about it in the next few weeks once its maker (Asus? Apple? Acer? Dell?) comes out from the woodwork.

    The few details look very good, but remember that a netbook year is like seven laptop years right now. If it is introduced late this year or even next year who knows what competition it will have. It might not look that great by then.
