For those of you who are still skeptical about the netbook market’s rapid growth, see a recent report published by DisplayBank that says the total number of netbook units shipped last year was 14.6 million. Not bad for a market that’s less than five years old, eh? What’s more, sales will continue to rise this year, what with the recent economic downturn and cost-cutting measures being done by folks from around the world. Acer and ASUS lead the pack in terms of netbook sales, owning 37.3% and 33.2% market share respectively, while HP follows as a distant third with 7.5% market share.
