Retailer Halts Selling Asus Transformer Prime Due to Technical Issues

Clove, the first retailer to sell the Transformer Prime in the UK, has just announced that it decided to withdraw the Asus quad-core tablet from its offer. This is due to availability problems as well as a great number of technical issues.

Ever since the quad-core tablet started selling, Asus struggled to deliver enough units to meet demand. Furthermore, many customers started to complain about its dodgy GPS performance shortly after Asus shipped the first Primes, so the company decided to remove the GPS functionally from the TF201 specs sheet in the US.

Just several days ago, Transformer Prime owners ran into a new series of problems as they try to update the OS to Android 4.0, which so far haven’t been resolved. These problems go as far as from “serial number not found” error that prevents the update from installing to a series of random freezes which affect the Primes from running the latest version of Android.

Despite the issues that the Transformer Prime face, UK customers may still want to consider buying another ASUS Tablet. After all, there are rumors that the company is already working on new Transformer tablets, which are expected to perform better.
