Reviewed: Alienware M11x
And just like that, HardwareHeaven posts the first review of the Alienware M11x. They got their hands on this netbook pretty quick and they have proven that it really is worth the praise heaped upon it.
While this device is definitely marketed for gaming, it performs pretty well for watching HD video as well. You’ll get a modest 2 hour battery life when gaming and 5 hours, 46 minutes when on general use. The netbook delivers the same glowing keyboard and Alienware logo of their other notebooks and they’ve done a pretty good job of keeping it cool. The temperature and noise were barely there felt and heard during actual testing.
There’s also an option to overclock the 1.3GHz Core 2 Duo processor to 1.6GHz for a better gaming experience. The M11x performed well when tested on games such as Left 4 Dead 2 and Modern Warfare 2. And if you want more battery life from this machine, just switch off the discrete graphics for up to 8 hours of battery life.
So if you’re looking for a beefy alternative to other netbooks, this should definitely top your list. Prices start at US$799 and are available at Dell’s online shop.
