Runcore has new mini PCIe SSDs

If you’ve checked if your netbook has a free mini PCIe slot, then read on friend. For those whose netbooks are lucky enought to have one (or are bold enough to add one via modding), Runcore just announced a new line of mini-SATA PCIe cards which can give a much needed boost to you system.

The SSDs come in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB varieties and have read/write speeds of 90MB/s and 55MB/s respectively. Other features are reduced heat, longer battery life, silent operation (vs HDD) and speed increases in certain tasks.

If you’re ready, find your screwdriver and head over to the RunCore store to grab a piece.

How does this “SSD” compare to other Solid State devices which are described as “IOPS” SSD’s(claiming comparable performance to RAM)?
Obviously, the size of these Runcore SSD’s is greater than the IOPS’s I have seen(usually up to ~4GB) but what of the performance? How do PCIe SSD’s compare to SATA II SSD’s?
Are there compatible IOPS SSD’s for the Asus EEEPC 1000HE?
