Shuttle’s X50 Netbook-Nettop-All-in-One TouchScreen PC
Posted in: nettop, tags: shuttle x50
Nettops are cool for your kitchen tops, right? Well, at least that’s how Asus is marketing its nettop. But for Shuttle, maker of the X50 all-in-one PC, that doesn’t have to be the case. In fact, they are marketing the Shuttle X50 as a portable 15-inch AIO PC.
Specs-wise though, the Shuttle X50 is your typical netbook with the following features:
- Intel Atom 330 CPU
- Intel 945GC+ICH7 Chipset
- 1GB RAM
- Realtek High Definition audio
- 160GB HDD
- 15.6-inch 16:9 Wide Panel
- Windows XP Home Edition
- 1.3MP Webcam
- 4-in-1 card reader
- WiFi
- 3.6kg
The question is, are you willing to carry a 3.6kg netbook/nettop where ever you go?
The Shuttle X50 would go for around $500.

Any idea whether the unit will have user upgrade capabilities? For instance, can a user replace the hard drive or upgrade RAM?
As a personal note, I love the idea of this type of device. I was initially interested in the HP touch screen PC’s until I learned that should a component fail, one had to return the entire PC to HP for service. Not that I have sensitive data, but I do not like the idea of not being able to pull my own hard drive without cracking open the shell myself. I won’t purchase the HP because of this design choice.
very nice blog and all post is very luxury
