Some Asus Eee Box B202 Comes with a Bonus Virus
Posted in: Desktop, asus, tags: recyled, virusAsustek Japan has warned Eee Box B202 owners that the said netbooks have been shipped with a computer virus. These Eee Box B202 were released in Japan last week, and it was only now that Asustek confirmed of the existence of a virus called “recycled.exe” inside the netbox. This virus attacks when the Eee Box’s drive is opened. Once this is triggered, the said virus would begin copying itself to the main C drive of the netbokx and then transfer the virus to a removable drives or USB memory drive.
Asustek Computer’s Japanese arm has alerted owners of its new Eee Box low-cost desktop PC that the machine shipped with a virus. What is not clear though is if the said virus is unique only to those Eee Box B202 released in Japan. Asustek has neither deny nor confirm whether the virus has also attacked other Eee Box.
Eee Box B202 owners, consider yourself warned. Take the necessary precautions unless you want to reboot your Eee Box B202 later on.
