It’s now Sony’s turn to announce their latest netbook at the CES 2010, and it’s the new Sony Vaio W Eco Edition. Yes folks, Sony decided to make its netbook different once again but it doesn’t have to do with processing performance since all Intel Pine Trail netbooks are practically at par with each other anyway.

So, Sony takes the more relevant eco path with the Sony Vaio W.  And why is this environment-friendly? – Bright, clear mercury-free display with LED backlight, recycled plastic parts, electronic manual, innovative carry-bag that saves 10% CO2 emissions are the reasons why Sony is calling this netbook eco-friendly.

Of course, Sony machines are known for their elegant design. So, to make this new Vaio W netbook Sony made its body white while the palm rest in mint green finish – probably to send the message that this is a green machine.

The Sony VAIO W netbook will be available starting February 2010. Like in the past, expect this to come out with a very “special price.”
