If the rest of the world thought that the Sony Vaio P was kind of expensive for a small computing device, and Sony even refusing to admit that it is a netbook, well for some Japanese it is the best netbook so far.

According to a study made by Japanese Newspaper Nikkei, The Sony Vaio P is the respondents choice in terms of performance, price, design, portability and ease of use. The Sony Vaio P beats other netbooks including the Acer Aspire One, Lenovo Ideapd S10e, Asus Eee PC 1000H-X and Onkyo Sotec.

Most notable feature of the Sony Vaio P according to the survey was its solid hardware specs, despite having a slow OS. If you’re going to base the criteria on portability, design, ease of use and perhaps performance, the Sony Vaio P is certainly a good value machine. But then again this lead us back to the “price” aspect again.  It is too expensive for a netbook. It’s plain and simple.
