Sony working on Tablet S successor

Sony may be gearing up to release a successor to the Sony Tablet S released last year. Over at the FCC, a new filing has been spotted for the Sony SGPT1211 which has been described as a tablet device. Sony haven’t announced any thing yet but, the model number is similar to the Tablet S which Sony released last year as their first entry in to the tablet market. Unfortunately, by the time it was released however, the specifications were good but, slightly outdated, with a Tegra 3 processor and an older version of Android Honeycomb. Hopefully the new model will either have a Tegra 3 processor or even a quad core Snapdragon processor. Although, Tegra 3 seems more likely so that they can take advantage of the Tegra Zone for gaming, as well as carrying PlayStation certification like the Sony Tablet S and Tablet P.
The FCC filing however doesn’t shade any light of any of the specifications of the tablet, so every thing is just speculation at the moment, until Sony officially announce the tablet. The fact that is has passed through the FCC however, means it’s release shouldn’t be too far away and an announcement should be made soon by Sony.
