Asus are working on bringing the new Intel Atom CPU to netbooks and BIOS updates have appeared for two netbooks so far. On the Asus website, there is a BIOS update for an Eee PC 1008P and 1005P which are likely to be nearly identical to the Eee PC 1008HA and 1005HA respectively.

Eee PC Italia reports that the P in the new models, stands for Pine Trail, or Pineview. The netbooks are likely to be released after CES next year.

Eee PC 1008HA

Asus are releasing their Eee PC 1008HA and 1005HA netbooks in new color variants for Italian consumers. The Eee PC 1008HA will become available in Sapphire Blue, Ruby Red or pink. While the 1005HA will also be available in blue, as well as pink. The 1008HA will have a brilliant finish on it, while the 1005HA will be of a plastic finish.

As of yet there’s no release date for the new models or price. The specs are expected to stay the same but nothings been confirmed from Asus as to what to expect inside the netbooks.
