Asus has quietly released a new netbook model – the Eee PC 900SD. As this still belongs to the 900 Eee PC series, we can immediately deduced that there won’t be too much significant changes from its other Eee PC 900 units.

True enough, the Eee PC 900 definitely looks very similar to the Eee PC 900 with both of them having an 8.9-inch display and a 900 MHz Intel Celeron processor, among other similar features. The only difference is the fact that the Eee PC 900SD has less storage and lower resolution webcam.

Another significant difference is the fact that the Eee PC 900SD will be availale in various color design including blue, gold, purple in addition to the standard black and white models.

Comparing it further with the Eee PC 900, the 900SD would also have a longer battery life, which is estimated to max out around 3.5 hours. The Eee PC 900 could only last up to 2.5 hours.

Apparently, the Eee PC 900SD is already available in Europe, as both Notebook Italia and Eee PC News are reporting its release. For other countries, we may have to wait for an official announcement coming from Asus as to when the Eee PC 900SD will become available.
