The latest news that we encountered was courtesy of Engadget citing a Wall Street Journal report confirming that the Inspiron Mini will be officially announced on Sept 4. Of course, experience tell us that once the WSJ runs a report about an upcoming event/launch, there’s a slim chance that it is not real. 

Interestingly, we also learned that the Inspiron 910 will come pre-installed with Box.net service, an online photo and document storage service. In addition, the Inspiron 910 will have a price tag of less than $400 and users will have an option of either Windows or Linux for its OS.

Anyway, one more day of waiting. Finally, it will all be over by tomorrow.

WSJ Reports – Dell Inspiron 910 to be Released on Sep 4

Deja vu? Well, perhaps but, several sites have reported that the Dell Inspiron Mini will be launched at the beginning of September. Gizmodo, Blogeee and EeePCNews.de have all reported that the Inspiron Mini will be released on the 5th September, the 7th in France and the 9th in Germany respectively.

Hopefully, the information is true. There are other reports that there will be a Dell announcement sooner than any of those dates but, that isn’t confirmed either, we are still lacking the definitive release information from Dell unfortunately. All the indications are that the Inspiron Mini will be with us sooner rather than later though.

Dell Inspirion 910 this week?

The Dell Inspiron 910, aka Dell Inspiron Mini, was set to be released today, but EeePCNews.De has reported that Dell have told them that the netbook won’t be available until September.

Dell have also reported that the Inspiron 910 will run a varient of Ubuntu Netbook Remix which will allow an ‘easy mode’ which will work by using a horizontal bar, producing simple navigation for users.

Dell Inspiron 910 now coming in September

Remember the Dell Inspiron 910 we previously told you about? The Inspiron Mini which we hoped to see announced last week never happened. Further details emerged that Dell would be naming it the 910 instead. We now have the web documentation for the Dell Inspiron 910, detailing the specifications of the notebook. Along with the documentation comes photos of the Inspiron 910.


As you can see from the product overview information, the 910 will support SSDs up to 16GB as well as having wlan connectivity and a 0.3 megapixel web camera.

The 910 is said to go on sale on August the 22nd, so there’s not long to wait now. As of yet the price hasn’t been confirmed but, let’s hope it has the starting price of $299 as rumoured.
