<p>Windows XP based netbooks aren&#8217;t the only netbooks that can have applications that <a href="http://eeepc.net/must-have-xp-utilities-for-netbooks/">enhance the netbook experience</a>. <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=2234X572204&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.linux-magazine.com%2Fonline%2Fblogs%2Fproductivity_sauce_dmitri_s_open_source_blend_of_productive_computing%2Ffive_applications_for_netbook_bliss&sref=rss">Linux-Magazine</a> have posted up a list of five apps that are sure to bring &#8220;netbook bliss&#8221; to Linux run netbooks.</p>
<p>The first application which gets a mention is &#8220;<a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=2234X572204&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.day-planner.org%2F&sref=rss" target="_self">Day Planner</a>&#8220;. This app will help you keep track of your daily activities through it&#8217;s simple interface. Below the calendar a list of upcoming events is displayed. The type of events Day Planner supports is: Normal, All day and Birthday.</p>
<p>For keeping your data safe, <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=2234X572204&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fconduit-project.org%2F&sref=rss" target="_self">Conduit</a> is the recommended application. Conduit allows users to upload photos to their Flickr account, or back up files to Box.net.</p>
<p>With the next application on the list, <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=2234X572204&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fstackp.online.fr%2F%3Fp%3D28&sref=rss" target="_self">Droopy</a> allows users to send their files to your netbook directly instead of using another service such as Sendspace.</p>
<p>To keep track of your bookmarks, task lists, contact information and more, <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=2234X572204&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Ftreeline.bellz.org%2F&sref=rss" target="_self">TreeLine</a> is described as a &#8220;perfect tool&#8221; to do so. Text snippets can also be organised with this handy app while the next and final app on the list allows you to manage text snippets. <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=2234X572204&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Ftiddlywiki.com%2F&sref=rss" target="_self">TiddlyWiki</a> will treat notes as small containers named tiddlers which can be hidden or shown.</p>

Following on from <a href="http://eeepc.net/10-great-ways-to-tweak-your-netbook/">10 ways to tweak your netbook</a>, <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=2234X572204&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fgigaom.com%2F2008%2F12%2F12%2F7-windows-xp-utilities-for-your-netbook%2F&sref=rss">Gigaom</a> have posted up a list of seven applications that will make your Windows XP based netbook &#8220;shine&#8221;. While some are obvious choices for all Windows users, such as <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=2234X572204&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.microsoft.com%2Fwindowsxp%2Fdownloads%2Fupdates%2Fmoviemaker2.mspx&sref=rss">Windows Movie Maker</a> and <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=2234X572204&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.foxitsoftware.com%2Fpdf%2Frd_intro.php&sref=rss">Foxit PDF Reader</a>, the other applications listed will be useful for many a netbook owner, myself included.</p>
<p>To get the most out of your netbook sized screen, Tweak UI, Xplorer2 and Virtual Desktop Manager are recommended. <a href="http://eeepc.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/DeskmanPowertoySetup.exe">Virtual Desktop Manager</a>, as the name suggests, gives you up to four virtual desktops which you can use for various tasks, with email on one and web browser in another as an example. Switching between the desktops is also easy and quick to do. <a href="http://eeepc.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe">Tweak UI</a> on the other hand allows customization of how XP looks on the small screen with the ability of making the boxes within the Windows bar bigger. For those who move files to and from different folders frequently, <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=2234X572204&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.zabkat.com%2Fx2lite.htm&sref=rss">Xplorer2</a> allows you to drag and drop the files from different folders in one window.</p>
<p>The other two mention applications are <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=2234X572204&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.microsoft.com%2Fdownloads%2Fdetails.aspx%3FFamilyID%3Dc26efa36-98e0-4ee9-a7c5-98d0592d8c52%26amp%3BDisplayLang%3Den&sref=rss">SyncToy</a>, which allows you to keep two folders sync, meaning that your important files, can always be with you, and SharpKeys. <a href="http://redirectingat.com?id=2234X572204&xs=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.randyrants.com%2F2006%2F07%2Fsharpkeys_211.html&sref=rss">SharpKeys</a> allows you to remap the keys on your netbook.</p>
