The Archos 70b Internet Tablet is a product refresh of the Archos 70 IT that was showcased at the CES 2012. Now, it is available on Archos Store and should be selling at major retailers real soon.

The Archos 70b IT runs on a TI OMAP 3 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and paired with 512 MB RAM, while its 7-inch capacitive screen offers 1024×600 pixel resolution.

When you look at the outside, there doesn’t seem to be any difference between the 70 IT and the 70b IT. However, the power connector has disappeared, and the tablet is charged via USB.

Like all the Archos Gen8 devices, the Archos 70b IT was first released with Android 2.2 Froyo. But with its 512Mb of RAM, it can now run Android 3 Honeycomb.

Archos currently supplies both firmwares in Android 2.2 Froyo as well as in Android 3.2(Honeycomb). The Froyo firmware does not contain any Android Market, which can still be installed using the ArcTools application. Once the Android 3.2 firmware is installed, the device can now access Android Market.

The Archos 70b is the company’s first 7-inch tablet that is built on a 1.2 Ghz single core processor,  8GB of storage  and  Android 3.2 Honeycomb. Since it’s been certified by Google to support the operating system, it also comes with the Android Market, Google Maps as well as other Google applications preloaded.

As of now, only the Archos 101 G9 and Archos 80 G9 tablets have the Android Market. The rest of the Archos tablets, including earlier Archos 70 models, came with the third party AppsLib app store instead.

The Archos 70b features a 7-inch 1024 x 600 pixel display. Its processor is supported by 512MB of RAM and has 8GB of storage. It’s may not be among with the fastest Honeycomb tablets today, yet it runs the operating system reasonably well. Moreover, it’s one of the few Android tablets you’ll find with a built-in kick-stand.

The Archos 70b will be available for $199 and is expected to be shipped within this month.

The Archos 80 G9 tablet is now available with new hard drive options. That means users can now store as much as 250GB of music, movies as well as other data on the device.

The Archos 80 G9 tablet is one of the few Android 3.2 tablets that comes with an 8 inch, 1024 x 768 pixel display. The new “Turbo” edition of this tablet comes with a 1.2 GHz TI OMAP 4460 dual core processor, while the 1.5 GHz model is still being anticipated since the company didn’t get to have it launched on Christmas as promised.

For now, the current models available are the Archos 80 with 1 GHz CPU and 8GB flash storage, Archos 80 with 1.2 GHz CPU and 16GB flash storage and the Archos 80 with 1.2 GHz CPU, 250GB hard drive. You can buy them from the Archos Store.

The company also offers a new Turbo version of the Archos 101 G9 tablet with a 10 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel display. For only $399.99, you get tablet with a 1.2 GHz dual core processor and 16GB of storage.

It looks like tablets are becoming more than a gadget for gaming and reading as more manufactures are creating devices with dual capabilities. A few days ago, we heard of a Shenzhen-based company called RenBen producing a tablet with dual-sim capabilities. On Friday, the FCC passed a device described as “a handset of internet tablet with DECT.” Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications or DECT is a digital communication standard, which is primarily used for creating cordless phone systems.

The mysterious device in FCC was submitted by Archos, a French consumer electronics company. And just like RenBen, this device looks more like a phone than a tablet given the “Smart Home Phone” name on the back of the product.

No information regarding tech specs and features yet so we cannot deduce at this time if the tablet functionality is only limited to view contacts and caller data.

The new Arnova 9 G2 tablet is now available has just started to sell in France and Germany. The Arnova 9 G2 is the latest Arnova second generation Android tablets that delivers amazing display quality with its bright 9.7” (1024×768) LCD touchscreen.

The specifications are pretty similar to the other devices in the Arnova G2 line. The  Arnova 9 G2  has an ARM Cortex A8 1 GHz CPU,  512 MB of RAM and Android 2.3 Gingerbread Operating System. HD (1080p) video quality with true vivid colors.

The official price for Arnova 9 on Amazon.de is 250 Euro. In America, this tablet would cost about $340.

Archos has just confirmed that the Archos 80 and Archos 101 G9 Tablets will be available during Christmas day. These are the first tablets from Archos to feature Google Android 3.2 Honeycomb and the official Google Android Market as well as custom multimedia apps. The company are planning for the release Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich updates early next year.

Whilst most Android™ tablets have 1 GHz dual-core nVidia™ Tegra 2™ Processor, ARCHOS have partnered with Texas Instruments to improve the performance range offered by the family of OMAP 4 smart multi-core processors. Present G9 tablets feature Classic and Turbo models, providing you the choice between a 1 GHz processor and 1.2 GHz processor. But on Chreistmas day, the updated versions of these 8 and 10-inch tablets will have 1.5 Ghz dual core processors with a 512MB RAM. in addition, both models have up to 250GB storage space.

The Archos 80 and Archos 101 will cost € 350 or less in Europe. However, there are no further announcement on US pricing or availability.

Archos is already preparing for the release of the renewed version of their Gen8 tablet, the 70 Internet Tablet. In fact, sources have it that the new version of this 7-inch tablet has undergone some major changes from its 2010 version.

The first release of 70 IT only has 256MB RAM, 800 x 480 pixel screen resolution and it runs on Android 2.2 Froyo OS. The updated version, on the other hand has 512MB of RAM, 1024 x 600 pixel display and is now operated by Google Android 3.2 Honeycomb. The tablet will stiil run on the same TI OMAP3 processor as the original. The 70 IT will also have 8GB or more of storage as well as a microSD card slot for expansion.

In addition, Archos 70 IT is enclosed in its patented plastic overmolding made of high-tensile stainless steel and injected plastic, giving it a stylish look that doesn’t compromise between weight and strength.

The Archos 70 V2 Gen8 tablet will be out on the market probably later this year or in the early 2012 for about $199 and up.

An upgrade for the G9 series of Archos is now readily available in UK. The new Archos 101 G9 Turbo is their latest unit with a dual-core 1.2GHz processor and activated by Android Honeycomb 3.2 with Google Mobile Apps Suite including Android Market. In comparison from the original G9 Android tablet that run by a single-core 1GHz processor and Android Gingerbread 3.2 OS.

This gadget is a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800p capacitive touchscreen displays, has  a 512MB of RAM and 16GB internal memory storage. Archos made multimedia applications for extra format and codec support including H.264 HP. It is also capable of Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n service and upgradable to 3G using the Archos G9 3G stick.

Archos is continually producing improved versions of tablet and is recently rumored working on a 1.5GHz processor that will supposedly be seen on the coming weeks. This company manages to bring devices with decent performances at prices not as high as other known brands. Just like with this Archos 101 G9 Turbo that costs £ 299.99 in UK market.

Archos is known for naming the models in its tablet product line according to the device’s screen size. The Archos 32 for example has a display of 3.2 inches, and the Archos 101 has a screen real estate of 10.1 inches. If big displays are a crucial feature for you, then you’ll probably be excited to hear that this French manufacturer may be in the process of putting out a 12-inch slate.
