If you are one of the tablet or smartphone owners who often type long documents or emails, then you might want to use a portable Bluetooth keyboard to lessen the stress of using the device’s built-in keyboard. In fact, Verbatim has just announced the release of their latest Bluetooth keyboard.

The new Verbatim Bluetooth Wireless Mobile Keyboard can be paired with up to six devices all at the same time and it can be used with iPhone, iPad, iPad 2 as well as with other Bluetooth-enabled devices, such as Samsung Galaxy Tab and Motorola Xoom.

While it’s just the size of a standard QWERTY keyboard, Verbatim’s Bluetooth keyboard can be folded in half for easy storage and portability.
However, since this device is bigger than an iPhone, it won’t fit in your pocket. Nevertheless, Verbatim’s Bluetooth keyboard won’t take up much space in a bag or briefcase.

Once open, little rubber nodules underneath the keyboard, which also serve as hinges, are designed to stabilize the device on flat surfaces. In case you’re typing on your knee or you’re typing in some awkward position, a sliding lock mechanism secures the keyboard in place so it won’t fold up on you. The only thing about the hinge mechanism, though, is a small split on the spacebar. In addition, multimedia buttons located on the left hand side of the keyboard allow you to play, pause, skip tracks and adjust the volume.

The new model also has dedicated function keys including cut, copy, paste and undo as well as brightness control.

Along with the keyboard is a retractable and removable smartphone stand (it’s too small to dock a tablet) designed for the phone to lie in landscape orientation, which makes sense if you’re typing documents, and allowing you position the screen where it’s convenient for you.

Verbatim Bluetooth Wireless Mobile Keyboard comes in black or white. It is powered by two AAA batteries and has its own carry case. It’s priced at US$79.99.

Now that Dell actually has plans to release a set of touchscreen tablet slates soon, I wonder what’s the use of getting a Dell Mini 9 modded into a tablet. For the sheer awesome geek cred of course!

The B-rock is now selling his beloved tablet netbook to fund some important housing choices and you can help him out. He’s offering a lot to go with the modded device including a lot of internal gadgets like a TV tuner, accelerometer, GPS, and Bluetooth plus a maxed out rig of 2GB RAM and 32GB SSD. He’s also up for a couple of weeks worth of after-sales tech support should you need it.

If you think you’ve heard about this before, well it was featured in a lot of blogs before and he did previously put it up for sale as a hackintosh though Apple balked at that and that sale didn’t go through. If you want to grab this fine little device, head over to eBay right now and bid on it! B-rock will ship to folks in North America and some parts of Europe.

Within a few days of having the Acer Aspire One, it was ripped apart and she had added an internal Bluetooth module. You’re also in luck if you’d like to perform this modification as she has a video of the process and has uploaded it. You’ve also got the choice of looking at the pictures she’s uploaded to Flickr detailing it more.
