Brad Linder has posted up news of a “Pre-Black Friday” deal involving the Eee Box - the desktop equivalent of the Eee PC netbook.

If you are quick - the deal only runs for one day - J&R Music and Computer World are selling the Eee Box on Amazon.com for $269.99 which is a good saving of between $20 and $50 on the usual selling price of the PC.

Here is a quick rundown of the features and specs of the Asus Eee Box on offer:

  • Full-powered desktop PC in tiny package–perfect for de-cluttering desk or adding to HDTV as media hub
  • Energy-efficient 1.6 GHZ Intel Atom processor helps reduce electric bill and carbon footprint
  • Boots up as quickly as 7 seconds, mounts on back of a VESA-compatible HDTV
  • 80 GB hard drive, 1 GB RAM, Draft-N Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n), Gigabit Ethernet, four USB ports, DVI video output
  • Pre-installed with Windows XP Home; includes Microsoft Works for word processing and spreadsheets

SingTel are bringing the new Asus Eee PC 901 HSUPA 3.5G, also known as the 901 Go, to Singapore.

Based on the Eee PC 901 model, the 901 Go has the addition of an internal 3.5G HSUPA modem plus a slot for reading sim cards. Connectivity is what the ‘Go’ is about, letting it live up to it’s name as a netbook.

Between the 18th of October and the 14th of November, subscribers to SingTel’s mobile broadband plan can pick up the Eee PC 901 Go at S$498, discounted from the S$898 it will cost without the service.

An intriguing ‘laptop’ has appeared on the web today, and it is anything but standard. This new machine, lacking specs or the makers name, is made of a couple pen-shaped devices.

The machine operates via a couple of thin ‘pens’ that are Bluetooth enabled. These devices project the screen and keyboard onto any flat surfaces.

There’s no other features listed, no other information at all. There is one picture of the person who is presumed to be the created, but nothing is official.

It will be interesting to see if anything comes of this design.
