Folks in the UK who are looking to get hold of the first convertible netbook from Asus, featuring an 8.9 inch display, will have to wait even longer than what we previously reported. The Asus Eee PC T91 had already been delayed until the 22nd of June due to logistic problems. Netbookchoice have confirmed that the T91 will now not be available until late July. A date hasn’t been confirmed but Asus UK confirmed that the timeline was concrete and more delays are not likely. The convertible netbook is taking longer to be released in the UK as Asus want to be 100% happy with the product before shipping and touching up the interface.

We’ve already shown you a few tidbits about Asus’s forthcoming Eee PC T91 covertible tablet. And as we’re nearing this touchscreen netbook’s official release date (which unfortunately is still pretty much unknown), expect to learn even more and read more about it online. Bit-tech recently published a multi-page preview of the Asus Eee PC T91, in which they tried a near market-ready version of the netbook, dropping criticism and praise at different points in their article. The basic gist of it: the Eee PC T91 is a great next-gen Eee PC, but doesn’t quite surpass Asus’s other high-end netbooks in terms of performance and usability. Read on at bit-tech to get the full Eee PC T91 preview.

As the 9-inch Gigabyte M912 netbook got its own 6-cell battery, a larger version of the said netbook was introduced, and it’s called the Gigabyte M1028 Touch Note, also a convertible netbook. Here is it pictured above, and as for the specs, it also comes with features that you’d normally find on netbooks being sold these days:
- 10 inch 1024 x600 touch screen
- Intel Atom N270 with 1GB RAM
- 160GB HD
- Bluetooth
- b/g/n Wifi
- Ethernet
- 3G option
- SD card slot
- ExpressCard slot
- VGA out
- 3 x USB
- 1.3Mpix webcam
- XP Home
It was seen on display at this year’s MWC, but there’s no word yet on a release date or price.

Those of you using the Gigabyte M912 convertible netbook will be glad to find out about its new 6-cell battery, shown here rearing its ugly head/butt inserted in a working unit. There’s no info on how long the battery lasts on a single charge, but it’s most likely more than the standard 3 hours one can achieve from bundled 3-cell batteries. It goes for only 60 euros a piece. If you’ve ever wanted to get one in the past, now’s your chance.
