It’s a busy week for the guys over at NDevil. First they unbox the Samsung N220 twice, once in German then in English. They then take the netbook apart. This time round, they’ve taken apart the Pine Trail version of the Asus EeePC 1001P. The inside is pretty much the same as the 1005PE and 1008P Karim Rashid Edition except there’s no Bluetooth or 802.11n support. The battery is also of a lower capacity than it’s more expensive counterparts. That’s not always a bad thing though, as the 1001P is the cheapest of the Asus Pine Trail netbooks, available for just $299.

On the bottom of the netbook, there’s a panel which is removed by removing one screw. From there you can replace or upgrade the RAM. Anything else however, such as upgrading the hard drive, requires all of the screws on the bottom of the netbook to be removed, along with the keyboard. Below are the photos NDevil took of the inside of the 1001P.

There’s two videos of the netbook dissecting. The first video shows you the basics of taking the netbook apart, providing you with a good insight on where the RAM and hard drive are, as well as a look at the wireless module and mini PCIe slot. Their second video is a bit more in depth. It shows you how you can upgrade the RAM by removing the access panel. While a hard drive upgrade, requires the bottom of the case to be removed, along with 16 screws. You can view both videos after the jump. Inside the 0.24-0.79 inch machine, features a Core 2 Solo 1.4GHz processor, 2GB of RAM and a 320GB hard drive. Also inside the tiny notebook there’s also WiFi and Bluetooth modules, but not much room for anything else.

Taking up one third of the space is the motherboard with the hard drive and cooling fan taking up most of the other space. There’s only 1 mini PCI-E slot inside which is in use by the WiFi card. Other components are soldered into place on the motherboard.

If you’ve ever wondered what the Acer Aspire One D150 looked like inside, then wonder no more. The folks over at Netbook Italia have dissected the D150 and gone into great detail about it.

Unlike many other dissected netbooks, Netbook Italia have included a guide on how they took the Acer Aspire One D150 apart, right from removing the battery and bottom chassis, all the way through to removing the screen from the top chassis. From the guide, it looks as if it’s easy enough to upgrade the RAM or hard drive.

The folks over at HP 2133 Guide have shared some more photos of the HP Mini 2140. This time however the pictures focus on the internal workings of the netbook. Yup, they’ve taken the 2140 apart, minus the screen.

Both the top and bottom sides of the motherboard are on display as well as the empty shell and with the top shell off. It’s noted that the 2140 is much easier to dissect than the HP Mini 2133, which they’ve also photographed taken apart. The chassis of the 2140 has less screws holding it together than that of the 2133, which also reportedly is harder to remove the top part of the case.
