Remember the Akoya Mini E1210 we told you about not so long ago? Well, apparently this netbook from Akoya has siblings, two of them actually – the Akoya Mini E1215 and Akoya Mini E1211. The E1215 was introduced during the CeBIT 2009. While we’ve only heard about the E1211 only now.

These two new netbooks from the Akoya Mini Series are currently up for grabs now but only if you’re living somewhere in Europe, particularly near Aldi, Hema, Action, Gamma or Karwei (this are actually name of European stores?).

There’s nothing really much to brag about these netbooks’ specs. The Medion Akoya Mini E1211 is your usual 10-inch netbook with Intet Atom CPU, 160GB HD, Windows XP, and Bluetooth. While the Akoya Mini E1215 also has a 10-inch display and Intel Atom CPU plus 160GB HD, Windows XP, webcam, Bluetooth, WiFi and an integrated UMTS module.

The Medion Akoya Mini E1215 and E1211 will set you back around 400 and 500 euros respectively.

UK retailer Aldi are to re-launch the Medion Akoya Mini E1210. The E1210 was previously sold through the retailer in September as part of a promotion. With the promotion being successful the netbook will be returning to shelves this Thursday.

The E1210 features a 10 inch widescreen display, 1GB of RAM, Intel Atom processor and 160GB hard drive, with Windows XP being the chosen operating system. The Akoya, a rebadged MSI Wind, will retail for £272, making it a cheaper alternative to the MSI Wind itself.

The Medion AKOYA Mini E1210 notebook will be released in Aldi stores on September 7th and will cost £279, Medion have announced.

The AKOYA Mini 1210 has the ‘air’ of a larger laptop and certainly has the specs to back that up:

•  Intel® Atom™ N270 Processor (1.60Ghz, 512KB L2 Vache, 533 MHz FSB)
•  Windows® XP Home Edition (includes SP3/OEM version)
•  10” TFT widescreen display with 1024 x 600 pixel resolution.
•  1 GB DDR2 RAM
•  80 GB Hard Drive
•  High Bandwidth Draft-n Wireless LAN.
•  Stereo loudspeakers
•  Integrated Webcam with Microphone.
•  Included Software – Corel®, WordPerfect®, Office X3, BullGuard Internet Security (trial)

This latest addition to the Medion range weighs in at a hefty 1.2kg. The unit itself measures 260mm x 180mm x 19mm and comes in black, silver or white. It is also expected to come with an extended battery life.

The AKOYA Mini E1210 is an intriguing prospect but, with the Dell Inspiron Mini expected to come out at around the same time we will have to wait and see how sales progress for Medion.
