For those who got a TouchPad during HP’s fire sale about two weeks ago, then you might be a recipient of $19 refund through PayPal. It appears that some of those who took advantage of the promotion online were charged extra for shipping.

It was reported then that there was chaos at eBay and PayPal during the promotion. A number of buyers complained of errors, lag, and lost orders. An email is going out to purchasers of the device that reads partially:

Due to an error in the calculation of Shipping & Handling fees for the HP TouchPad, you were charged an additional $10 in shipping fees for your order. We have recognized this error and HP’s eBay store will credit $10 to your PayPal account for each HP TouchPad you ordered. eBay and HP are also aware that in some instances, the shopping experience of HP’s eBay store was impacted by the overwhelming response to the HP Touchpad deal. eBay and HP are committed to delivering the best shopping experience possible on eBay and are providing you with an additional $9 credit to your PayPal account for each of your HP Touchpad orders.

HP TouchPad is a 9.7-incher, with 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual core processor, 1GB of RAM and a 1024 x 768 pixel screen display. It is operated by webOS 3.0 software, but the tablet has proven popular to tweakers who have installed an alpha version of Google Android.

Never mind the $1000 netbook, how about forking up $3000 for one? The Acer Aspire One has been blinged up in Zen way by UFO-Hayashi. The art of painting on gadgets appears to be quite popular in Japan, with other devices such as laptops and iPods also being decorated by gadget artist Hayashi. The Zen art on the Acer Aspire One describes spring coming into your life after a winter within your life.

Unfortunately the netbook isn’t up for sale by Acer themselves and it doesn’t appear to be sold by Hayashi either. The netbook is up for auction on eBay with a starting price of $3000. As of yet it hasn’t got any bids on it but it does end in 5 days and is listed by a new member.

Are you just sick and tired of those flimsy and often unreliable soft netbook cases? You know, the ones made out of cloth? Well, if you are, and are ready for some extra protection at the price of your dignity (or what’s left of it), then you might want to check out a listing on eBay called “Poor Man’s netbook.” Simply put, this thing is a custom-made “portable computer” that’s priced just like most netbooks nowadays: $299. Never mind its quirky setup, it can run Windows XP. Now, interested in getting one? Or are you just sorry for the guy who made it?

You might think you’re already productive with that feature-laden Samsung NC10 of yours, but have you ever imagined what you could do if it ran for over 7 hours on one single charge? I bet you’ve fantasized about it a lot, you mobile productivity junkie, you. It’s time to do something about that fantasy of yours to turn it into a reality, mate. For just a hundred bucks, you can add more than 4 hours of battery life to your Samsung NC10 with a 9-cell battery. It’s not the sexiest accessory to add to a netbook, but the payoff should be well worth it. Just remember to check the seller’s feedback rating, so you can be sure about buying this product yourself.
