John over at Eee-PC.de has modded his Asus Eee PC 1000H. He’s already added more RAM and a touchscreen, along with upgrading the SSD. So what more was left? The keyboard. John has posted of how he’s taken the original keyboard out of the 1000H and replaced it with the keyboard found in the 1000HE Eee PC. He explains that some modifications are needed for the 1000HE keyboard, but it only took 5 minutes to put it together. Asus Eee PC 1000H owners, pay attention. Asus has just let out the latest BIOS version for your dear old 10-inch netbook, and it is now available for download from their support pages. To get the Asus Eee PC BIOS version for the Asus Eee PC 1000H (version 1305), you can go to the Asus support page and dig, or click on the following direct download links:

- dlsvr04.asus.com

No details are given about what changes this brings, but if it’s provided by Asus, it should be good for something.

It seems as though Raon Digital’s Everun Note with it’s AMD Turion dual core processor and 1GB ram performs better than the current Atom-based notebooks. This has yet to be verified by a third-party but it sure looks promising.

Rumored price for the Everun Note is at $800

The much awaited 10inch Eee PC 1000 and 1000H has finally hit the UK shelves today. The 1000 model runs on Linux and weighs only 1.33kg as opposed to the 1000H which runs on Windows XP and is 1.45kg. Even though the price difference in tiny (£349 and £369 respectively), the 1000H also offers a hefty 80GB hard drive while the 1000 model offers a 40GB SSD. Both use Intel’s new Atom processor and support both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity for those who are always on the go.

So which one do you prefer? Asus is also boasting that the 1000 series have around 7.5 hours of battery life due to many design enhancements done on these models too.
