Raon Digital are to produce two new SSD based versions of their Everun Note netbook/UMPC.

There will be an S16S which is set to be a Sempron based unit with a 1.2Ghz CPU, running Ubuntu Mobile and with a 12GB SSD (MLC).  The second model on offer will be a super fast Dual Core Turion based unit entitled the D24S. That will be fitted with a 24GB SSD (which comprises of 16GB MLC and 8GB SLC). The D24S will be running Windows XP as an operating system.

Pricing isn’t confirmed yet but expect to pay around $659 for the S16S and $950 for the superior D24S model. The S16S is available mid November but, if you are interested in buying the D24S, it’s available for preorder now.

As umpcportal pointed out, all the Note needs now is built in 3g and it would be an absolute gem of a UMPC.

The Everun Note has been recalled by Raon Digital due to failures such as the CPU’s overheating, a high pitched noise from the fan, inaccurate battery level information and blue screens, according to its website.

Everun Note owners that are affected by problems with their device can check out the Raon Digital website here for more information. It’s unclear whether the units will be repaired or replaced at this time.

Raon Digital has been teasing us with their 7-inch netbook/UMPC machine, Everun Note, for quite some time now. Like we reported before, this ultraportable is not your usual Atom-powered netbook, but not as powerful as your usual Ultra-Mobile PCs (UMPCS). We have to emphasize those points as early as now.

If we have to consider the current crop of netbooks with their Atom Processors, the Everun Note certainly won’t pass for a netbook with its AMD Turion 64 x2 processor. But if we have to consider the size of its LCD display which is a 7-incher, then the Everun Note could more than pass up for a netbook.

But then, we also must take into consideration its price, which is said to be around $879. Not as pricey as most UMPCs but certainly more expensive than most netbooks around.

Anyway, here’s a quick rundown of the Everun Note’s specs and features:

  • 1200 MHz AMD Turion 64 x2 CPU
  • ATI RS690E Graphics
  • Windows XP OS
  • 7-inch (1024×600) display
  • 1GB RAM
  • SD card slot
  • 2 USB ports
  • Mobile SIM card slot
  • PCI Express Mini slot
  • WIFI, Bluetooth, 3G

While Asustek and other netbook manufacturers are beating each other out in coming up with 8.9- and 10-inch netbooks of their own, here comes Raon Digital brandishing its Everun Note Netbook. It’s not that there’s nothing noteable about this netbook, but the fact that it only features a 7-inch LCD display makes it a bit too late to gain some traction in the expanding and growing netbook market.

But if you’re still looking for a 7-inch netbook and you don’t feel like grabbing yourself the Eee PC 700, Acer Aspire One, and the other others, you might want to check out the Everun Note Netbook. The good news is, this netbook is loaded with AMD Turion dual-core processor and an electronic dictionary function. So that makes up for good features which are different from the rest of the netbook lot.

Here are the other specs and features of the Everun Note Netbook:

  • 7-inch LCD display (1024×600)
  • 1 GB SDD or 80GB HD
  • 1GB RAM
  • QWERTY keyboard
  • 1.3 webcam
  • Bluetooh
  • Windows XP
