Back in July, we told you about the mini laptop that Gateway were getting set to release. The company have now released the Gateway LT32 in Canada for $450 and the US for $450. The LT32 features an 11.6 inch display with a resolution of 1366×768, along with 2GB of RAM and a 250GB hard drive. It also feature AMD Athlon II Neo K125 1.7GHz CPU and an ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics chip.

Along with the 11.6 inch Gateway LT32, the company are have also released a 10 inch version. The LT22 features an 10.1 inch display with a decreased resolution of 1024×600. Otherwise, on the inside the LT22 is virtually identical to the LT32. Because of the smaller screen the keyboard and chassis are also smaller. The LT22 has also been released in Canada and retails for $350. There’s currently no information about a US launch for the Gateway LT22.

Over at the Netbook Summit in San Francisco, California, NewGadgets.de spent some time with a netbook which looked very similar to the Acer Aspire One 521. The netbook in question, is the Gateway LT2203. Acer own the Gateway brand, as well as the Packard Bell brand. It’s not uncommon for them to re-release a netbook under a different name.

The Gateway LT2203 features a 10.1 inch display, with a pixel resolution of 1024×600. You can also find a single core 1.2GHz AMD V105 CPU under the hoot with ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics. Other specs include a 250GB hard drive, HDMI output, Bluetooth 3.0, as well as support for WiFi 802.11b/g/n. After the jump we have a hands on video of the netbook, playing a game with 3D graphics. One thing I like about netbooks is that is doesn’t have a DVD drive, something I don’t actually use that often in my main computer as well. It lets manufacturers create a sleeker design for this portable device and also makes it so much lighter to carry around.

Gateway, a subsidiary brand of Acer, went the other direction though and crammed in a DVD burner in its new EC14D notebook. By all the common standards, this isn’t a netbook but it’s an interesting play to grab those users who still need to create and use DVDs.

Among a group of new notebook models introduced by Gateway recently is this — the Gateway LT1001i — an 8.9-inch netbook that packs an Intel Atom N270 processor and other basic netbook features. It comes with Windows XP Home Edition pre-installed, and has 1GB of RAM, a 160GB HDD, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Intel’s Mobile 945GSE Express Chipset, built-in Bluetooth, webcam, and card reader. It weighs just 2.2 lbs and costs just quite a bit over $400. This doesn’t have enough to beat the Acer Aspire One, but should be good for those who want to be different. Acer was pretty successful in competing against the Eee PC with the Aspire one. And it is about to challenge Asus anew with the upcoming 10-inch Aspire One which will go up against Eee PC 1000 series. What it lacks so far is a product that will compete directly with Asus’ Eee Top. Until now, as Acer announced that it will soon be releasing the ZX2300 all-in-one PC.

Actually, the ZX2300 is an all-in-one PC made by Gateway, a company which Acer recently bought. So, when it goes up against the Eee Top, it’s simply again a battle between Acer and Asus.

Anyway, enough of the rivalry stuff and let’s see what the Acer/Gateway has to offer us.

Unfortunately, the ZX2300′s LCD is not touchscreen. And it will sell for around $530. If you’re not really looking forward to the touchscreen features of the Eee Top, and would rather have a bigger screen, then you’d be better off with the ZX2300.

PC maker Gateway have have today announced the release of four laptops including a netbook with an 8.9 inch display. The Gateway LT1001G comes with the standard netbook specs, 1.6GHz Atom Processor, 160GB hard drive and 1GB of RAM.

Gateway were acquired by Acer last year, so it’s no surprise that the LT1001G is similar in appearance to the Acer Aspire One. Gateway’s netbook is available in Singapore for $688 USD.
