The ‘Shanzai 100 See Ban Gu’ comes fitted with a rotating 10.2 inch tablet screen, is powered with an Atom CPU and is complete with a 160GB hard disk drive and 1GB of RAM. Netbooked.net have taken a guess that the screen resolution will be 1024×600 but, that isnt confirmed and neither is pricing. Shanzai do comment that the netbook will be out in time for the Windows 7 release although, they don’t confirm that this is the OS the netbook will come installed with.

But a newer high resolution model is now available. The Gigabyte TouchNote T1028X features an impressive 1366 x 768 resolution on it’s 10 inch display. It also features the Intel Atom N280 CPU.

DigiTimes explains that many netbook makers will also be releasing touch screen models next year, but until then we’ve only got the TouchNote by Gigabyte and a tablet style netbook from Asus. Liliputing points out that, as of yet, Asus only have an 8.9 inch display model, with the regular netbook resolution, making the T1028X the only 10 inch touch screen netbook available on the market. Those of you using the Gigabyte M912 convertible netbook will be glad to find out about its new 6-cell battery, shown here rearing its ugly head/butt inserted in a working unit. There’s no info on how long the battery lasts on a single charge, but it’s most likely more than the standard 3 hours one can achieve from bundled 3-cell batteries. It goes for only 60 euros a piece. If you’ve ever wanted to get one in the past, now’s your chance.

Gigabyte are to release three new netbooks, planned for release in the second quarter. Unlike their previous netbook releases, the screen size will be increased from 8.9 inches to 10 inches. The netbooks will be released with a $400 starting price, making them cheaper than their 8.9 inch touch screen netbooks. There is no word on whether the new line of netbooks will also feature a touch screen or if it will follow the traditional netbook lead with a clamshell lid and no touch screen. However based on the price, it seems likely that these netbooks from Gigabyte won’t include a touch screen.

Two of the netbooks will be designed by Gigabyte themselves while the third will be designed by Quanta Computer. Gigabyte are also considering a sub $300 netbook but no further details have been released.
