<p>The <a href="http://asuseeehacks.blogspot.com/2009/04/hivision-pw700b-cheapest-wifi-netbook.html">Asus Eee Hacks</a> site is featuring unboxing photos of the HiVision netbook which they are currently evaluating.  In terms of specs and features, there seems to be nothing special about this 7-inch netbook. In fact, it might be bordering a bit on the low-end side of netbook standards. But hey, what do you expect from a netbook priced as low as $100? And that&#8217;s what the HiVision netbook special.</p>
<p>For a sub-$100 netbook such as the HiVision PW700B you&#8217;ll get the following specs:</p>

<p>HiVision are producing three new netbooks to add to it&#8217;s 7 inch model. Their <a href="http://eeepc.net/hivision-nb0700-mini-laptop-mini-price/">7 inch</a> netbook was reported to be a cheap &#8220;sub $100&#8243;  buy at $98 but, Brad from Liliputing managed to meet with the netbook company at CES 09 and he <a href="http://www.liliputing.com/2009/01/hivision-unveils-a-full-range-of-netbooks-photo-gallery.html#more-4700">reports</a> that in actual fact the netbook should cost more than that for regular consumers on release, more like around $150. The $98 price tag is for bulk buyers apparently. There is no pricing information available for the new netbook range.</p>

<p>HiVision seem to have beaten their competitors to the race to produce a sub $100 laptop with their new model, the NB0700.</p>
<p>The HiVision NB0700 comes with either Windows CE or Linux, a 7&#8243; screen (800 x 480 pixel resolution), 400MHz MIPS CPU, WiFi support, 1gb of solid state memory and a choice of either 64mb or 128mb of RAM. Connectivity is tied up with the inclusion of a SDHC card reader and 3 USB ports.</p>
<p>It may not be the quickest model in the world but, with a price of just $98, there probably won&#8217;t be all that many complaints about that.<br />

Shenzhen HiVision have been &#8216;rumbled&#8217; it seems. Engadget managed to grab a few photos of some &#8220;dodgy looking&#8221; netbooks that the Chinese manufacturer are producing.
According to Engadget, there are  a variety of fake models on offer including a HP Mini Note look-a-like.
