So aside from the green Samsung N220 netbook we spotted a few days ago, it looks like this netbook will also be available in red variant. Although not as sleek-looking as the Acer Ferrari Edition netbook, still this red Samsung N220 is worth a look and perhaps a purchase especially if you’re a Samsung fan.

Aside from its spanking red color, the Samsung N220 also sports a chicklet-style keyboard and matte screen- two features that we didn’t see from previous Samsung netbooks.

Of course you also get the promised 11 hours of battery life, Intel Atom N450 CPU, 10-inch screen and the rest of its standard features. All that for a price tag starting from 349-399 Euros.

Here are some more hi-res photos of the Samsung N220 for your viewing pleasure:

The new Intel Atom platform is composed of the Intel Atom processor – the N450 and a new low-power Intel NM10 Express Chipset.

Salient features of the new Intel Atom Platform include:

smaller package due to increasing integration and 45nm manufacturing

smaller, more compact design

lower cost for OEMs

improved performance

integrated memory controller and graphics

20% improvement in average power

60% reduction in total footprint

Technical specs are as follow:

single core processor

512K of L2 cache

In September, Intel will be holding an event in San Francisco showing off a number on new technologies. One that’ll interest netbook users, is that netbooks will be shown with the N450 CPU. Today’s netbooks with an Intel CPU use either the N270 or N280 which is pretty much just as fast as the upcoming processor. However one main difference is that the newer processor consumes less power keeping the netbook cooler for longer and on for longer with improved battery life. The N450 is also smaller in size, meaning the netbooks taking advantage of the new technology will be thinner than current netbooks.
