Remember NEC Lavie Light Netbook we featured a couple of months ago? Well the said netbook may have not reached the international markets yet, but that didn’t stop NEC of Japan to release two new colors of this machine as well as upgrade its screen size to 10.1-inch. The new NEC Lavie Light Netbook’s new colors are Pink and Blue in addition to the previous Black and White color design.

Aside from the two new colors and the 10-inch display screen, the Lavie Light Netbook is still pretty much the same old stuff with the following features:

  • 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU
  • 160GB HDD
  • 1GB Memory
  • WiFi
  • 3 USB Ports
  • SD Card Slot
  • 1.3 Megapixel web camera
  • 1.17 kg.

Still no words yet on whether NEC is keen on releasing this netbook to the U.S. market.

Japanese manufacturer maybe starting to notice the growing popularity of netbooks, that some of them are starting to join the netbook party. One of them is NEC which just announced their own netbook – the LaVie Light. Sadly, this netbook got nothing unusual to brag about except for the fact that it has the NEC branding.

Let’s see how it fares up with other netbooks in terms of specs then:

  • 8.9-inch LCD screen
  • 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU
  • 160GB HDD
  • 1GB Memory
  • WiFi
  • 3 USB Ports
  • SD Card Slot
  • 1.3 Megapixel web camera
  • 1.17 kg.

Perhaps by now, you’d know that those are pretty standard netbook specs, right? Pricing for this netbook would probably in the range of current 8.9-inch netbooks available in the market today. Anybody here who can understand Japanese, please visit the site and would appreciate if you can tell us the price of the LaVie Light netbook.
