As it is already available in Asia, I was able to sit down with a live unit of the Acer Aspire One D250 today to see how different it is from the model that it replaces. As you may already know, it serves to phase out Acer’s first 10-inch netbook, which was released not more than three months ago, the Acer Aspire One D150. What’s so special about the Aspire One D250 that Acer had to introduce it even though it’s essentially just the same model as the D150 but with a better processor and slimmer profile? We’ll have the answer to that shortly.
Eager to read the first user reviews of LG’s upcoming X120 netbook? So are we. And we’re in luck, ’cause today we stumbled upon a quick preview of the said netbook from Linus Tech Tips. Well, it’s not so much a preview as just a showing off of an unpowered device that’s taken apart. We did learn, however, that the LG X120 is just an easy pickle when it comes to teardowns. All it took was the taking out of several screws and careful pulling to reveal that the HDD and RAM on the X120 are both easily upgradable, and that’s good enough to know for most people. After the break, photos of the LG X120′s innards exposed. We sure can’t wait to get out hands on this.
The Asus Eee PC 1000HE is a slight variation of the Asus Eee PC 1000H. It comes with pretty much the same exact features as the original, and in fact it also has the same chassis. But it does sport a slightly better processor, the Intel Atom N280 chip, as well as a much-improved chicklet-style keyboard. LaptopMag was able to get their hands on an Asus Eee 1000HE unit recently, and their first impressions show that this new model is a downright improvement over the old one. Their full review won’t be ready until next week, but until then you can read through their preliminary comments and watch a video showing the Asus Eee PC 1000HE in action.

The DVD burner-equipped Mouse Computer netbook ain’t no myth. You can see it here, in the photo above, live and in the flesh. This photo, along with a couple of others, were taken at Osaka where it is now available. It’s official model name is the Mouse Computer LB-F1500W (wherein LB stands for LuvBook). Surprisingly, the inclusion of a built-in optical drive doesn’t add much to the netbook’s overall footprint. What’s more, it is quoted with a 5.2-hour battery life. Too bad it’s priced insanely, at 64,800 yen in Japan or about $729 USD. Way to break something that would have been great, wouldn’t you agree?

We’re still a good few weeks away from the 10-inch Acer Aspire One’s official retail arrival, but that’s not going to stop you from salivating over the fine live pics of it taken by AkihabaraNews. The above photo was taken during an Acer press conference in Tokyo, which I take as an event in which Acer introduced the 10-inch Aspire One in the land of the rising sun. It looks exactly like it does on official product photos, which means that either Acer is making no pretensions with their renderings, or the camera used by AkihabaraNews is kick-ass. Check out more photos of the 10-inch Aspire One at the link below.
