The next iteration of the Apple MacBook Pro is expected to have top-of-the-line technology. However, exactly what will comprise its parts is all speculation for now, although some of these seem to be more likely than others.

Among the possible parts is a Retina Display, which is currently found on the newest Apple iPad tablet PC. This screen has a resolution of 1560 x 1600 pixels, rendering the pixels extremely small so as to be indistinguishable to the naked eye. This makes text and graphics immensely sharp and bright for the Apple product. Intel had recently let slip that its new Ivy Bridge architecture supports the Retina Display, which hints at its inclusion in the new notebook.

Currently, Samsung is responsible for making the Retina Display of the Apple iPad, so it might also be tasked with making the screen for the MacBook Pro. However, it is equally likely that Sharp will make the displays, as the company had recently began producing IGZO (indium gallium zinc oxide) LCDs that have a screen resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels.

It is still unclear whether the new MacBook Pro will have Intel-only graphics or a combination of NVIDIA and AMD. Both have their advantages, although it is unknown whether Ivy Bridge can handle the high number of pixels on the display.

In any case, only Apple can decide as to what specs the MacBook Pro will carry, considering on today’s available technology and the demand of the public for some features.

Apple products, especially MacBooks are known for not having virus access on its systems, otherwise not as often as current Windows machines.

But recently, security analysts have found a pair of Trojans on a few Pro-Tibetan NGOs’ computer systems.This malware infiltrates Macs using the same exploit that worked for them on Windows.

This has been possible through posing as Word documents reaching the Mac computers; as Alien Vault has discovered the Trojans. The trojan will be activated and sends the infected machine user once you open those, creating a backdoor access for the attacker.

The main purpose of this malware in the case of APT-styl attack, however, is information stealing. It will intend to hit the OS X-based machines by communicating the C & C portions of the Trojans through a server in China.

Hopefully, these Trojans will able to identify and destroy in a short time, and will not infect other Apple’s bests like the iPad.

The MacBook could soon be getting the much-raved-about Retina Display of the new iPad.

The rumor that the Retina Display will be available on the MacBook started in February, when reports surfaced that the first developer preview of OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) contained proof for the upgrade in the new Notes application. The Notes app is the only one with a 1024 x 1024p resolution, although there are several new apps in OS X 10.8. While other icons had the usual 512 x 512p resolution.

Now, new proof regarding the pixel-dense screen has emerged through the new Messages app, which is the replacement for iChat. Messages is found in the second developer preview of Mountain Lion, and sports a 2x resolution icon, as well.

All these could mean that the Retina Display could soon be available for the MacBook, and could well be released concurrently with of OS X 10.8 this summer. In the sales department, the combination of the new OS and the Retina Display on the MacBook Air could only mean more revenues for Apple. The effect is expected to be similar to what happened when the new iPad was released with the Retina Display, which sold millions of units shortly after its release.

Well, at least good news is coming from Apple; the company has decided to give a facelift on those 2010 models. The new EFI firmware update should work on MacBook Pro (early 2010) iMac (mid 2010) and MacBook Air (late 2010) models. The firmware adds support for Lion’s internet-based recovery mode –very useful for those optical drives-less Mac minis and MacBook Airs. The update allegedly should fix bugs on Air models, actually resetting if the power key was pressed instantly following booting from high sleep mode. If you’re craving for the new firmware — it’s already out there now.

A new Macbook from Apple is anticipated to be available in the market on or before March 2012 according to the sources from upstream supply chain. Reports have been circulating couple of weeks ago about the upcoming ultra-thin 15-inch Macbook which will be categorized either Macbook Air or Macbook Pro Line.

Apple’s Mac Laptops created desirable impacts to the consumers by providing dazzling portable computer applications. As a result, rumors have been heard that some of the Apple’s suppliers starting to ship several components for sets of newer and slender Macbook. The shipment is said to take place this November to soon start their production and meet the demands of the future customers.

The new 13 inches Macbook pro is all about speed and endurance when it comes to performance. It boasts of  a bevy of new components and abilities, including a second-generation Intel Core i5 processor, a FaceTime HD webcam, and Thunderbolt high-speed connectivity. The macbook Pro is very much similar to its predecessor when it comes to design. Slim with its iconic curved lid, the aluminium unibody chassis exudes premium build quality from all angles. Measuring 12.8 x 8.9 x 1 inches, and weighing 4.6 pounds, the new machine has the same dimensions as before but is a fraction heavier (0.2 pounds). Still with that extra bit of pounds this machine easilt slips into the bag and is pretty comfortable to carry. Users will also find the same black Island-style keyboard and large multitouch touchpad that have graced previous models. Chiseled from a single block of metal, the MacBook Pro feels extremely sturdy. But the Pro suffers from one major drawback and that is that the battery is not replaceable, at least not without Apple’s tech support. The keyboard of the Macbook pro is one of the best in the market. The laptop’s big square keys have a soft finish and are arranged in an island-style setup, offering plenty of spacing. They also make little sound when hit, yet provide a satisfying click. Possessing an ambient light sensor, the keyboard is backlit as well, which is one of the advantages the 13-inch MacBook Pro has over its predecessor. The vast 4.1 x 3-inch touchpad plays a double role as one massive button. It’s the gold standard; it let us glide our fingers across it with minimal friction and intuitively press down to make selections. It makes sure that we never miss the lack of a discrete mouse button, or even two. When performance is concerned the Macbook Pro boasts of a 2.3GHz Core i5 CPU–a big improvement over last year’s Core 2 Duo chip–and 4GB of RAM. Running Snow Leopard, the 13-inch MacBook Pro can book in just over 41 seconds, 4 seconds faster than the current category average, which consists mostly of Windows PCs. The 320GB, 5,400-rpm hard drive is capable of achieving a file transfer speed of 28.1 MBps, 3 MBps higher than the thin-and-light average. The 13-inch MacBook Pro takes just 47 seconds to transcode a 5-minute MPEG-4 file to AVI using Oxelon Media Encoder in Windows (using BootCamp). Apple decided to the replace Nvidia GeForce 320M graphics in the previous 13-inch MacBook Pro with an integrated Intel HD 3000 chip. The battery life of the Pro is impressive and scores higher than its predecessor as well. It lasts for around three and a half hours more than the other laptops of its class. So keeping these things in mind, it certainly is a good deal.

Apple has distanced themselves more than once from the netbook market in the past, even claiming their “DNA will not let them ship” [a netbook]. However, it looks like Apple has finally changed its mind regarding the netbook market after all, if a new report from DigiTimes about an upcoming MacBook Air is to be believed. After all these years in the market and only ever receiving a small upgrade in its internals, the Apple MacBook Air is rightly fit for a design change. What kind of change that might be remains uncertain, but a senior analyst at DigiTimes Research an 11.6-inch MacBook Air is on the way, and it will have an Intel Core i-series ULV processor. It is also said that this new model will feature “an even slimmer and lighter design than the previous-generation models.” This sounds very interesting, and apart from heat concerns, might come out as another marvel in engineering. But as confirmation from Apple is still unavailable, I suggest take this report with a grain of salt.

Whether this is another fake Apple netbook or not, we still can’t say. But it sure is one of the best looking renders we’ve ever seen. This photos was leaked in a Russian magazine and is tentatively called the “Apple MacBook Air Mini,” apparently for taking some design cues from the uber-thin MacBook Air. As you can see, it even lacks (or fails to show) its built-in ports on the side. This could very well be the 10-inch Apple netbook many folks out there have been waiting for.

One Rob Galbraith, referred to as a “veteran photographer and detail-obsessed camera reviewer” by Wired, has proclaimed that the Dell Inspiron Mini 9 was pitted against the 15-inch Apple MacBook Pro in terms of color accuracy, and won. He tested the Dell Inspiron Mini 9, MacBook Pro, Lenovo W700 and an IBM ThinkPad T60 laptop to see which was the best option for a pro mobile photographer. At the end of it all, the Lenovo with an optional built-in color calibrator was declared the winner in color accuracy, while the ThinkPad come out as the the one which offers the best viewing angles. What surprising is how something that’s supposed to be cheap with use of low-quality hardware gets to best a $2000 piece of equipment that’s “engineered to standards that don’t even exist yet.” Another reason to love your darling old netbook.
